I think the mystery surruonding the disappearance of her husband is the main thing bringing readers to this page, and as such should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.217.51.144 ( talk) 03:46, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
It is a bit rich to call this woman an "animal rights activist". That claim should be independently verified from a quality source (not that wikipedia editors would understand what that means.) As the documentary "Tiger King" has shown, she has no expertise in animal welfare, keeps animals in inadequate enclosures, and uses them to make money for herself. She also exploits the free labour of others. Now it seems this article has also been nomimated to be highlighted in wikipedia's "did you know ..." section. Just another exammple of what complete dross wikipedia is. 86.56.88.129 ( talk) 13:40, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
I really think it's disingenuous to call her an animal rights activist. She just likes big cats, and has no problem feeding other animals to her cats. A true animal rights activist works to minimize the suffering of all animals. I'd suggest something like "Big cat conservationist". 223.136.182.25 ( talk) 18:39, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
A couple of times I have found that the article has been edited to say things like "Baskin moved in with Michael Murdock" [around 1978]. That seems improper, because when she moved in with Murdock, her name was not Baskin. I think we should avoid using her current surname to describe things she did before November 2004, because it implies that she had that name before that time. It may be OK to say something like "Baskin says that when she was a child she did [something]", because it is describing something she says now, and her name is now Baskin. But I don't think it is correct to say that "Baskin moved in with Michael Murdock". Her surname was Jones, not Baskin, when she moved in with Murdock. It is better to say things like "As Carole Lewis, she and her husband Don founded Wildlife on Easy Street ...". — BarrelProof ( talk) 17:49, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
I met Don on Hillsborough Avenue near 50th Street in May of 1981. Not Nebraska Avenue. Animal abusers say that because Nebraska is well known for hookers. When I created this video I didn't remember the month I'd met Don and had put it as January, but was later able to confirm it was in May of 1981. see utube /H85yo-fLhbY The entire diary starts at SaveTheCats.org 173.78.57.39 ( talk) 21:15, 1 August 2020 (UTC)Carole Baskin
in the second ep of tiger king, joe exotic calls don lewis carole's "third husband". so who's #2?! is there one missing from the list? 66.30.47.138 ( talk) 22:32, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
I've added an unreliable source tag for this link to an Australian radio interview. The link's title "Carole Baskin... Only Found Out About The Series After It Aired!" is misleading clickbait that does not meet WP:RS. The interview doesn't back up the assertion that she didn't know about Tiger King at all, and the interviewers' sensational and silly tone implies that the interview was meant primarily as entertainment and not as serious journalism. Her actual statements in the interview are consistent with her past statements that she knew that the documentary was being made, but she believes that she was deliberately misled about its contents and the filmmakers' intent. Nothing in the source cited says Baskin left the Republican Party.
Carole Baskin left the Republican Party and became an Independent on the day after the insurrection in Jan. 2021. 47.206.188.46 ( talk) 17:18, 24 October 2021 (UTC) Carole Baskin

In Tiger King 2 they display a report from Homeland Security, which was not formed as an agency until 2002, five years after Don Lewis’ disappearance, saying they had information that Don Lewis was alive in Costa Rica. See https://bigcatrescue.org/tk2/ for screenshots you could add. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.169.61.220 ( talk) 16:18, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
Just kind of noting that there've definitely been numerous donations to Democrats since the article was last updated, so the current characterization is incorrect. The link that's already in the article already shows them, like to Cindy Axne, Ben Diamond, etc., so if someone wants to correct/update this, that would probably be a good thing to do. 68.110.29.138 ( talk) 19:19, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
