His 1926 journey resulted in his account of the experiences: The Desert Road to Turkestan. London : Methuen & Co., 1928 (or London : Methuen, [1928]); Boston : Little, Brown, and Company, 1929. The probably does not belong in the article but it has elements in common
A Camel Library Service in Kenya. This service which is funded by the Kenyan government and as a charity in Garissa and Wajir near the border with Somalia. The service started with three camels in October 1996 and had twelve in 2006 delivering 7000 books, [1] daily in English, Somali and Swahili [2] This service has been used as a background for the novel The Camel Bookmobile by Masha Hamilton.
