Well certainly as a Bruneian myself, i found this an interesting subject to look on into and began research bits and bits about the history of Brunei. The sources from my article are taken from a book containing yearly reports by European traders coming to Borneo to Brunei and early diplomats from other countries as well. Brunei was an empire state. Situated in the middle of South East Asia, it was a major port city too, with its navy spread all around the East Asian waters. Involved with a war with Spain, battled with the Majapahit empire and even involved in the earliest peacekeeping mission in history. I hope other researchers and historians could provide a much deeper insight about Brunei. Khiari 02:10, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I believe that this article will be more interesting if we add the Bruneian empire map. -- Mr. Knows ( talk) 07:00, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
This article is poorly written. There is no evidence that suggests the existence of a 'Brunei empire' nor does the article provide any solid sources. Hence the present text may be regarded as an extension of the officially propagated point of view. Tamadun ( talk) 04:23, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
For six months “the Royalist” cruised along the coasts of Celebes, and on the 29th August, 1840, Mr. Brooke returned to Sarawak. To understand in any measure, the motive of Mudah Hasshim's subsequent conduct, a very slight review of the internal affairs of the Bruni empire, of which Sarawak at that time formed part, is necessary.
