He read the files

Resident Evil characters read the files. Billy read one of the files in the game. That's how he knew of the mother virus. If you look at a few of the cutscenes in Resident Evil Zero, both Billy and Rebecca read the files. 24.14.120.92 09:22, 26 August 2006 (UTC) reply

I deleted this part: "While it is hinted Coen once had a connection to the Umbrella Corporation, the claim has never been explicitly explained. It should be noted that journal from an Umbrella Corporation soldier claims the corporation made a practice of blackmailing soldiers, unless they joined their forces. The shady details are complimented by Coen's rash flashbacks, which are induced after seeing a pile of skeletons, which leads to his testament to end Umbrella's heinous experiments."

Billy knew about the virus because he read the files found in the game. A couple of the cutscenes show the protaganists actually reading the files in the game. 24.14.120.92 15:39, 28 August 2006 (UTC) reply

""According to the file "Rebecca's Report" from Resident Evil 2, Billy Coen (in the file he is named Koen instead of Coen) was found dead near an MP vehicle and various other corpses. The next day his body wasn't found; as well as the other corpses. However, Rebecca more than likely lied about Billy's death in order to end the military's pursuit of him.""

I've adding a part about how these were only in the N64 port, this confused me for a while since I played the PS version and never found them or any reference to them on GameFAQs (because i was looking under the PS version) or Resident Evil Fan(which apparently mostly covers the PS versions of the PS trilogy.)

On the series navigation menu

Is there some reason Billy Coen is relegated to the supporting character section of the menu. He's on of the main characters in one of the main series games. He's easily a more major character than most people on the supporting character menu (such as Annette Birkin and Luis Sera who are in one game each and aren't playable.) Is there a good reason that Billy shouldn't be counted as a main character? (I'd also point out that Rebecca is listed as Main and only has one supporting character appearance in the series more than Billy.)

I'm not sure, but I believe that template should have a discussion page, where you can bring the issue up with its creators. :) -- ShadowJester07 09:55, 26 August 2006 (UTC) reply

I read the article on five, and somebody has put that the main character has been confirmed as coen. Is this true?

Wrong; the article clearly states that "the main character in Resident Evil 5 and in its teaser trailers are speculated to be Chris Redfield or HUNK" - [1]. Which article have you been reading? -- ShadowJester07 17:15, 19 November 2006 (UTC) reply

The one on resident evil 5. It has been changed now to that. Obviously it was just speculation.

Okay, who edited that bit about Steve Van Wormer confirming him voicing Billy out? It's true. http://i16.tinypic.com/53q2h6d.jpg

It's speculative as it already is, there's no point to adding it until Capcom officially announces it. -- ►ShadowJester07  21:01, 15 June 2007 (UTC) reply

So he confirms it, and Capcom asked him to take it down, and it's still "speculative". Yeah, because they so wouldn't ask him to take it down without a good reason, right? And the reason being that it's leaking of a character nobody thought would return. Also, if you'll notice, what I said was that his role was unknown. NOWHERE did I say that he was the main. The IMDB thing makes no sense no, but his website should, espically since there's basically a 99% chance he's voicing Maxi in SC4, which he says too if you would pay attention. Gives him credibility points.

Basically, what your saying is that he 'allegedly' confirmed he will play Coen's character, who will an unknown role in the game - what's the point of adding such small and possibly untrue details. Why not just wait for Capcom to officially state something, rather than using information sites like fan-edited sites like evilunleashed, digg.com or imdb.com. They'll announce it sooner or later. Rather than bickering at me, take it up with Wikipedia's policies, read WP:Original Research, WP:Reliable Sources, WP:Attribution, and WP:Verify. -- ►ShadowJester07  10:38, 16 June 2007 (UTC) reply

No, he DID. Did you even click that picture I posted? Because you obviously haven't. http://i16.tinypic.com/53q2h6d.jpg

It's true, the voice actor announced it himself. And he didn't put that there on his resume because he's a "fan" of the games, do you consider maybe he actually IS voicing Billy in the game? And besides, IMDB.com is no-where near fan-edited, especially not compared to wikipedia.com.

I've seen the page - even before the whole thing came up on Wikipedia. Take a chill pill and take same time to read the aforementioned links I sent you. You criticized me of allegedly ignoring your material when you obviously did not read any off the links I sent you. Once again the addition of the material is currently against WP's policies. I'll tell you this for the last time, take it up with the actual online policies, not me. We'll cross the bridge of adding the mention about RE5 when Capcom officially states something. -- ►ShadowJester07  20:06, 16 June 2007 (UTC) reply

It didn't bother me that you edited out...it bothered me that you seemed to be ignoring that picture which you immeditley dismissed as the IMDB page, which it wasn't. But since you claim to have seen it already, whatever, I don't care anymore.

Shadow, can you please put up a picture of Billy on his page? people keep taking it off and I'm getting so annoyed that he doesn't have a main picture.

The image does not belong on Wikipedia, it does not have a source or fair use rationale. I'll find something from NP or YouTube later. -- ►ShadowJester07  02:01, 17 June 2007 (UTC) reply

I've added Billy's (formerly) shadowy past. Only...I don't know how to cite it. It's on the official RE website. Go there, then to Umbrella Chronicles, and then to characters. It's all there. HeroOfVirtue 01:21, 7 September 2007 (UTC) reply

See WP:WAF; It's usually a good idea to keep extensive plot summaries out of video game articles. Thanks for the contribution though. -- ShadowJester07Talk 01:59, 7 September 2007 (UTC) reply
All right, you're the boss I guess...but it seems to me like something that people would want to know. It feels like it's the equvalent of leaving how Wesker served as a Head Researcher for Umbrella out of the article. HeroOfVirtue 20:00, 14 September 2007 (UTC) reply

Yeah. I got that file on Umbrella Chronicles. He was in some sort of mental state that made him go crazy right? We need to include that in the article. Bryanoftoons ( talk) 23:41, 13 February 2008 (UTC) reply
