"X-80" test plane

This article states: "He obtained and used film footage of an F-102 Delta Dagger standing in for the test plane." Actually, they mix footage of F-102 and F-106 fighters as stand-ins for the "X-80" test plane. For those not familiar with these aircraft, it is easy to confuse them as they both have similar configurations - indeed, the F-106 was an advanced development of the earlier F-102. If you look closely, you'll note the vertical tail of the airplanes vary from shot to shot, sometimes is the tail a pretty basic triangle shape with a vertical trailing edge (F-102) and sometimes an obtuse trapezoid shape with a sweptback trailing edge (F-106). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:801:300:7520:7436:F4D8:2D1D:BD77 ( talk) 22:05, 14 March 2024 (UTC) reply
