I'm not a pilot but I've been hanging around general aviation most of my life. I've witnessed my fair share of belly landings. They are one of the most common types of "accidents". I've never hear anyone say there was more than a slight danger except with fighter jets where the high speed does present a danger. Rsduhamel 04:43, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks to the person who referenced the link to the F-111 belly landing website. I originally added the section regarding the 2006 Emergency landing but forgot to cite a source. Was originally planning on citing some sources later on in the week but I confess it passed over my head at the time. Lachy123 11:34, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Quick question of clarification: Does an event like Air France Flight 447 construe a belly landing, or does it have to be a landing on a runway that didn't involve an unintended landing? Sportsguy17 ( T • C) 00:36, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
