I asked this question on the Battle of Zama talk page: Africanus was not called Africanus till after these battles. Shouldn't these articles use his birthname? 69.201.168.196 ( talk) 20:03, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Is it really needed to have a a separate section dedicated to the background of the 1st and 2nd Punic War, I feel like these secitons arent necessary. Deleting the whole background section would make this article much more concise to the topic of the battle itself, the prelude sections serves to include more than enough information for the background of the battle.
