Why on Earth is Robinsons in this article? They are far from the only manufacturer. Smells like advertising. 178.16.15.244 ( talk) 14:01, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Never 'eard of it. -- Rfsmit ( talk) 22:06, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
According to Barley#uses\, barley water is always made from unhulled barley, whereas this page suggests that pearl is the preferred. I could see pearl having become the default for home or modern production as it is more easily procured than unhulled, but does anyone know the facts? Czrisher ( talk) 16:12, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Does it actually smell? If so, of what? Maikel ( talk) 12:04, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
The straight barley liquid has a very subtle flavor. Lemon barley water (home made or store-bought) is indistinguishable from lemonade without barley. What is the barley supposed to be adding? Is it nutrition from the starch? Thickening the liquid from the pentosans? I am mystified and have not found the answer in barley-water historical accounts.
