RaviSharma21, you have claimed that Maqbool Sherwani was a "resident" of Baramulla. Can you provide a reliable source for that? -- Kautilya3 ( talk) 08:26, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

The article has a sentence:
What the source says is: "The district is situated at 34.1980° N Longitude and 74.3636° E Latitude, extending over an area of 4190 km²". I will correct the article.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:08, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
Unfortunately, the 2011 census gives the area as 4,243 km². [2]
A Jammu and Kashmir Government website stated that the area before the 2006 reorganisation was 4,588 km². [3]-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:14, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
There is a statement in the article posted at 05:02, 2 April 2019 by 136.232.8.34: "Actual area of district Baramulla according to 2018 survey by the centre for remote sensing and gis is 2204.06 sqkm." This is uncited, so I unless anyone objects I will delete it. But there is a source that says something like it:
The authors are from the Department of Studies in Geography, University of Mysore, Mysore, Karnataka, India. The study uses remote sensing to measure land use changes in Baramulla District by comparing images for 1980 and 2014. It does not explicitly say that the study covers the entire district. The data on land use given is as follows:
Classes | Area in 1980 | Area in 2014 | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
sq km | % | sq km | % | |
Agriculture | 369.65 | 17.83% | 327.81 | 15.82% |
Barren | 99.83 | 4.82% | 56.23 | 2.71% |
Built-up | 61.66 | 2.97% | 149.85 | 7.23% |
Forest | 897.41 | 43.30% | 760.11 | 36.67% |
Horticulture | 156.66 | 7.56% | 312.54 | 15.08% |
Pasture | 396.44 | 19.13% | 420.54 | 20.29% |
Plantation | 73.4 | 3.54% | 35.4 | 1.71% |
Water Body | 17.69 | 0.85% | 10.26 | 0.49% |
