The name of this article seems to be wrong. "Bao yu" only refers to abalone in general. This should be merged with the abalone article. Any ideas/comments? — *H ¡ρρ¡ ¡ρρ¡ 13:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
I think the exact dish names would have more words like "bao yu tang" for a soup, or whatever (even if that term isn't used on menus). So what are all the dish names for those using this ingredient? Badagnani 06:14, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
"Bao Yu" just means abalone, it's not a general term for dishes that include that ingredient. It's used in the same way that "Chicken"/Gai/Jie is used for Chicken dishes. In my opinion, this article shouldn't exist. Not unless you want to create an article for every Chinese translation of an English word. Dyl ( talk) 03:08, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree with merging this article with Abalone, under Consumption. There is no need for this article which is only about how the Chinese consume it. If this is necessary, we would need a page for every culture's methods for consuming everything in this world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.186.14.222 ( talk) 00:09, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
