A fact from Avukana Buddha statue appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 11 March 2010 ( check views). The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that according to legend, the 5th century Avukana statue (pictured), a large stone figure of the Buddha, is the result of a competition between a sculpting master and student? Aukana is an ancient Buddhist site, rather interesting in its configuraton. The Buddha is famous, but we probably need an article for the whole site, and one for the Buddha. Views? -- Shirazibustan ( talk) 11:32, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Shirazibustan reply
