It is not true that copies of the software not obtained from the Avid website are useless because of the serial number. Copies are frequently distributed on CD, both by Avid resellers and by computer magazines. It is true that a serial number is required, but it doesn't matter where the software is obtained. It is possible to obtain a serial number without downloading the software, just by going through the registration process; all you have to do is cancel the download as soon as you are given the serial number.
Does anyone have a better screen shot? I don't think GW giving the finger is really necessary. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Modus ( talk • contribs).
