Since this term, "Archaic Homo sapiens" (H. s. ${\displaystyle s\!\!\!/}$.) is distinct from "Anatomically modern humans" (H. s. s.), the "{{ Redirect from alternative name}}" no longer applies, so it has been removed in favor of "{{ Redirect from related term}}" and "{{ Redirect with possibilities}}" Rcats. Presently, there are two "known" instances of archaic Homo sapiens, Homo sapiens idaltu and (most likely) Homo sapiens neanderthalensis. More such fossils of different subspecies may be found, which would eventually require an article that is titled "Archaic Homo sapiens" or preferably "Homo sapiens (archaic)".
