I think this is supposed to be these, but it seemed slightly probable that author truly intended to write the plural of thesis. Can the author correct this if necessary?

You are correct. I am not the person who originally wrote that sentence, but I have fixed it. That's the beauty of Wikipedia, it's an encyclopedia anybody can edit.
