I have played this game for years but the following stumps me: "The expansion did feature an option to play the original Age of Empires with or without the additional content. " I never came across any such option. I'm also surprised by the rest of the Reception section - some reviews actually state that the expansion was so studded with new stuff that it was almost a new game. Floris V 16:00, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

- Yeah, I am considering trying to get heavengames recgognised as a valid reference and citable source on this encyclopedia (generally fansites aren't recognised but there are official ways of getting them recognised as being reliable). A certain admin thought it wan't good enough listing it as a reference for Newtoy's (a spin off from ensemble studios- the makers of AoE series- after it was nuked by microsoft) new games.

- Yeah, I am considering trying to get heavengames recgognised as a valid reference and citable source on this encyclopedia (generally fansites aren't recognised but there are official ways of getting them recognised as being reliable). - EDIT: I'm pretty sure it was Hellens in the beta or trial version of either the original or expansion pack. Hellens also are part of a mod for AoE3.
