I suspect that this article is canoing related, if only by the mention of gorge, difficulty and commenting on the classic section... of the River Wye. Perhaps someone who knows, rather than one who speculates, might one day edit this article. LessHeard vanU 22:24, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
According to the article, this "is a river close to the Llangurig to Rhayader section of the River Wye" with an "approximate length" of "2 kilometres" (or if you like, "about a mile"!). It would seem, therefore, that this is a very minor tributary of the Wye, apparently. There must be scores of small streams which feed the Wye in this section of its course alone. Just why is this so notable? Is there really anything more to be said here? I'm tagging this, unreferenced as it is, for lack of notability. Enaidmawr ( talk) 18:17, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I've rewritten the article to be geographically accurate, and included a couple of references to fishing. That may be enough for notability. I didn't include this reference about canoeing, which is what the original author used, because it implies that canoeing is illegal. If the article stays, should it perhaps be moved to "Afon Marteg" (its name on the OS maps) with a redirect from "River Marteg"? JohnCD ( talk) 14:47, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
