There are no glaring issues with it, all the sources appear to be reliable and it's well written. I am slightly curious as to how he's Irish if he was born in Malta- is it how he identifies himself? If so, that should be stated and sourced in the article. There are a few other minor points with the lead- MOS:BIO says place of birth should not be in the lead sentence. I can see a good argument for putting it in the lead section, though, so perhaps you could move it around a little bit? Also, the lead does seem to be serving more as an introduction than a summary so it could perhaps use a little expansion and you should make sure that everything mentioned in the lead is covered in the body.
