Vandalism?

There seem to be some entries here that would be better reclassified and or removed. Kevmin 06:09, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

I agree, for example "A manned trip to Uranus is possible." wtf? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.201.168.107 ( talk) 16:58, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

I changed the decade as a whole, instead of it being reffered to as the twenty sixties i changed it to simply "the sixties" since I do not find that realistic. When it was 1960 they did not call it the "ninteen sixties" they called it "the sixties" Blueguy20 07:57, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I respectfully disagree - while "the sixties" almost universally refers to the 1960s, the various decades are also referred to using the century as well, especially if the context doesn't make which century one is talking about obvious. Huw Powell ( talk) 00:55, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

This is scary

End of life on earth? This could not be true. Why would it end?

Cheddar Cheesia 00:17, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

It could be true - there are various astronomical phenomenon that could wipe out life on Earth, such as a sufficiently large asteroid or comet strike - but not one that we know is going to happen. Average Earthman 07:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't think http://www.isaac-newton.org/update.html constitues a WP:RS. If someone could point to the actual Daily Telegraph article, that might be a source, or if the references in http://www.isaac-newton.org/update.html check out as reliable sources, that might be more appropriate. — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 00:55, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Anniversaries

Ok, Daniel J. Leivick has consistantly removed the anniversaries of independence for countries. However, I have checked other year pages and certain anniversaries have remained intact, such as the United State's Tricentennial, wich I have noticed Daniel has neglected to remove despite removing others on the 2070s page. Has Wikipedia passed a policy that says these pages should not state the anniversaries for independence, or is Daniel acting of his own accord? ( Grizzwald 05:24, 5 September 2007 (UTC))

Sorry for being a little autocratic there isn't any consensus on it but I have been removing them for about a year now and no one has complained. I strongly oppose anniversaries on pages like this as they quickly fill up with trivial anniversaries like the 100 year anniversary of Michael Jackson's birth and 100 year anniversary of the release of Star Craft. In my opinion if you want to know what the anniversary of something will be you can go to its own page and add 100 or 200 to the date it happened. We don't want these pages filling up with all the events that happened 100/200/300 years ago. As for the tricentennial, it gets added a lot and I must have missed it. Let me know if this is a problem. -- Daniel J. Leivick 16:24, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
( Grizzwald's arguments seems to look like WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, to me. But, perhaps the tricentennial should also be removed. — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 17:33, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Ok, that's all I was wondering. Thanks :) ( Grizzwald 18:14, 5 September 2007 (UTC))

Adding my page 2061

It's a page I've created . Right now it's now yet complete but it will get there. You really need a page for 2061 in the 2060s section.-- Poptropica ( talk) 14:39, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Not really. We don't have a 2060, either. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 05:04, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

1000 year anniversary of...

...the Norman invasion of England?? Why is this not here? ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ( Ταλκ) 23:36, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

No anniversaries are included unless there are present plans for commemoration then. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 05:04, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
If it ever is added, don't forget to add 6 days to convert from the Julian to Gregorian calendar. Rvmsges ( talk) 23:12, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

New Sentence

I was wondering can the new sentence The 2060s will begin on January 1, 2060 and will end on December 31, 2069 be at the top of the article so people can know when the 2060s will begin and end 69.209.197.42 ( talk) 13:51, 22 August 2009 (UTC).

The correct span is January 1, 2061 thru December 31, 2070. Kdietz ( talk) 22:41, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Halley's Comet

The next predicted appearance on earth is July 28 2061 according to the Wikipedia page on the subject. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halley%27s_Comet —Preceding unsigned comment added by LastWarrior2010 ( talkcontribs) 02:52, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Newton's Prediction

Newton predicted that the final battle between good and evil (or God vs. the Devil) would happen no sooner that 2060, NOT the end of the world. 71.180.171.44 ( talk) 16:18, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Separate

There seems to be enough information to separate the decade into ten articles, one per year. 184.75.33.92 ( talk) 21:15, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

I don't think so. The last time "you" (an IP, anyway) created a "2060" article, it only had one entry. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 02:24, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
