title

"2007 Kenya riots" is not a very good title for this page. For starters, the riots are likely going to persist into early 2008, and for seconds, "2007 Kenya riots" provides no information as to whether the riots are about a football match or a disputed election result. Unless someone objects, I'll probably rename this page on the morning of Jan 1st. if my pessimistic predition holds true Brianski ( talk) 13:43, 31 December 2007 (UTC) reply

OK let's keep 2007 by then. What was you thinking to add? Maybe 2007 post-election riots in Kenya?-- TheFEARgod ( Ч) 13:55, 31 December 2007 (UTC) reply
This article is too short and lacks specifity. I suggest we merge it with the presidential electron results article, with the heading aftermath. It would look better then and would be more adaptable. ALSO, I dislike the entire style and tone of the article. It doesn't sound right when I read it. It feels more like a news report transcript, not an article. Merged

I have merged this article with the presidential election results. JoshHuzzuh  Talk  16:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC) reply

I would prefer that we restore this article. The riots can't be properly covered in detail in an article on the election. Everyking ( talk) 19:09, 31 December 2007 (UTC) reply
Merging makes sense to me for two reasons - First, the two are inextricably linked. Second, the news is breaking, and making decisions about what will is encyclopedic will require a little bit of time to elapse for historical perspective. That said, at some point it will perhaps make sense to revive this page Brianski ( talk) 16:17, 1 January 2008 (UTC) reply
Of course they are linked, but the riots are a major topic in their own right and need a separate article for comprehensive coverage. We don't need "historical perspective" to see what is considered notable by Kenya and the world right now. Everyking ( talk) 16:54, 1 January 2008 (UTC) reply

Title and merge

I'd also prefer to have a separate article for the riots, and the article should be named 2007–2008 Kenyan SOMETHING -- either "protests" or "riots" or "demonstrations" or ... — Nightstallion 02:02, 2 January 2008 (UTC) reply

For those who care, it's re-split at Clashes in Kenya (2007–present). — Nightstallion 12:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC) reply
