Additional info,needed to cmplete methodology as a rigorous proof Sq root 11 First step: (3 + 2/6) Sq root 12 " (3 + 3/6) And so forth Sq root N = (A + (N - A)/2A)Tags: Mobile editMobile web edit

I have been slow to update my 2012 Archimedes square root paper, posted to Academia.edu, Seeing the same square root formula used in the 800 BCE Sulba-Sutra for the square root of 2, per (1 + 1/3 + 1/12 - 1/408) fully recorded in fractions Pushed my button, waking me up for awhile. At age 80 I nap a lot.Tags: Mobile editMobile web edit

Example square root of 10 approximated by.(3 + 1/6) expanded to 9+ 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/36 = 10 + 1/36 Wishing a more accurate approximation Fibonacci and Galileo both divided 1/36 by 2(3 + 2/6), inverting to multiply and sing modern vulgar fractions 1/36 x 6/38 = 1/228 The final calculation cited by Fibonacci and Galileo meant Second approximation (3 + 1/6 - 1/228) Obviously in error by only 1/228(1/228) a huge improvement over 1/36 Best Regards, MIloTags: Mobile editMobile web edit

Square root of 2
Added Archimedes, Fibonacci and Galileo square root method based on the binomial tbeorem, and an inverse proportion to reduce estimate errors, facts that I published in 2012.Tags: Mobile editMobile web edit
