→Surveillance and censorship concerns: Actually, there's no reason to even use the inflammatory term "genocide" here. The use of the term is already contentious at "Uyghur genocide", given that Wikipedia's position is that we cannot claim there is a genocide.Tags: Mobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

talk) In fact, an RfC at "Uyghur genocide" found that the sources so not support a factual claim that there is a genocide, and the we cannot make such a claim in Wikivoice. "The ongoing genocide" is a Wikivoice claim that there is a genocide, and therefore directly violates the RfC result.Tags: UndoMobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

Cannot claim in Wikivoice that there is a Uyghur genocide. This has been addressed at "Uyghur genocide", where an RfC determined we cannot claim existence of genocide in this case, and at "genocide denial", where there was a discussion of the fact that claim of "genocide denial" is a Wikivoice statement that genocide is taking place.Tags: Mobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

→Surveillance and censorship concerns: "Ongoing Uyghur genocide" is a Wikivoice statement that there is a genocide. As an RfC at the article "Uyghur genocide" concluded, we cannot make such a statement in Wikivoice, because the description of events in Xinjiang as "genocide" is heavily contested.Tags: Mobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

This coverage in the lede is way out of proportion to these subjects' weight in the article. The lede is supposed to summarize the main points from the article body. These subjects are barely discussed in the article body ("Uyghur genocide" isn't discussed at all, unsubstantiated US government allegations of surveillance are briefly mentioned). The use of "ongoing Uyghur genocide" also violates consensus at "Uyghur genoicde" article that we can't claim existence of genocide in Wikivoice.Tag: 2017 wikitext editor
