2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup
"association football (soccer)" -- soccer is the most common English term among CONCACAF countries (and precision of terms is also good in a lede)

Alcorconazo
I guess Marca used Alcorconazo for only the first leg? Not clear to me whether it should be only the first or both. For now I've rewritten it to be only the first, but included the second-leg result in the lead since it's pretty essential to the significance that ADA advanced.

Alcorconazo
eliminatory is not a valid translation for eliminatoria. I'm going with two-legged matchup as internationally intelligible, as opposed to something like a two-legged "cup tie" (tie has radically different UK and NAm meanings) or "series" (chiefly NAm term, rarely used for two-leg association football pairings).

Electoral college
→Worldwide: My comment here is close to OR and can be fixed but it's replacing a sentence that's flatly wrong. Allocation by state (winner takes all) is inherent to the US electoral college.

DR Congo national football team
→Glory period: Change in emphasis on the Ilunga free kick incident. Frankly the previous emphasis was borderline xenophobic/racist, giving too much credence to the widely-held contemporary notion that a Zairian African Cup of Nations champion was too naive or undisciplined to know or follow the rules.
