Shatoysky District ( Russian: Шатойский райо́н; Chechen: Шуьйтан кӏошта, Şüytan khoşta) is an administrative [1] and municipal [4] district ( raion), one of the fifteen in the Chechen Republic, Russia.It is located in the south of the republic. The area of the district is 505 square kilometers (195 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Shatoy. [1] Population: 16,812 ( 2010 Russian census); [2] 13,155 ( 2002 Census). [6] The population of Shatoy accounts for 17.6% of the district's total population. [2]
