San Marcos de Rocchac District is one of sixteen districts of the Tayacaja Province in Peru. [1]
One of the highest peaks of the district is Chawpi Urqu at approximately 4,600 m (15,100 ft). Other mountains are listed below: [2]
The people in the district are mainly Indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (86.57%) learnt to speak in childhood, 13.34% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language ( 2007 Peru Census). [3]
