Nice job on the portal congratulation's. Lakers 17:19, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
I dispute the neutrality of the inclusion of "Kurdistan Uyezd" and "Diyarbakır" as "Kurdistan related". No evidence that the borders of Kurdistan extend all the way to Azerbaijan or to Diyarbakir. -- Cat chi? 11:54, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
A class might be too high (it might need some procedure like GA, FA), don't we have something like portal class? deniz T C 13:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Saladin's ethnicity is still controversial. SO why did you add "Kurdish Kings" link including only Saladin while it is not clear with the consensus of historians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.229.98.98 ( talk) 17:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Er, it is actually common consensus among most historians that he was a Kurd. The ones who refute this mainly work along Pan-Arab or Turkish Nationalism. There has been endless discussion over this issue, and they've come to a consensus that he was a Kurd. Take this argument to the Saladin page though, that's where it needs to be.. -- MercZ ( talk) 19:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm not good with wiki coding, but it seems that the icons on the portal are stretching the page towards the bottom (the sister wiki icons).-- MercZ ( talk) 19:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
The name Kurdistan has no definition. There exists no political entity with that name. There is a province of Iran called Kordestan Province (not Kurdistan) and except that we have no such thing as "Kurdistan". Some Kurdish nationalist wish such entity to exist and make different definitions for it (like adding Luristan, Zazastan, whole of Western Iran etc. to "it"). Such vague wishful-thinking terms do not deserve to have a portal named after them in a scientific and precise encyclopaedia.-- ماني ( talk) 17:52, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
ماني this is old, but, Kurdistan does have a definition, there is this website called Google, I suggest you to use it since you are clearly, with all due respect, uneducated on the subject, on Kurdistan and on Kurds. What do they teach you in school?— Lost Whispers talk 15:35, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
Because of the lack of people/articles/images for this portal i suggest we make the Selected Article and Selected Picture boxes cycle trough a handful images (Example: Dutch WP. You might see the same article or picture twice but at least it not just blank or red links. ~ Zirguezi 12:53, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
A "Request for Comments" has been opened at Iraqi Kurdistan talk page, whether to include Iraqi Kurdistan region as part of the list of political entities in Asia. The question is whether Iraqi Kurdistan is of similar status of autonomy as Hong Kong and Macau, to be included in template:Asia topic. Please discuss at Iraqi Kurdistan talk page. GreyShark ( dibra) 14:18, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
I would like to invite editors to comment at RfC proposal on Iraqi Kurdistan's level of autonomy, essentially resolving whether Iraqi Kurdistan should or shouldn't be added to the "other Dependent territories" under Asia topic. GreyShark ( dibra) 18:10, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
This portal could do with some improvement:
I will attempt this in a week or so unless anyone objects. -- John of Reading ( talk) 07:42, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
WikiProject Portals is back!
The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.
As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.
There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.
Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.
And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.
From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 07:35, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
