Sci-hub is a controversial website, but it can not be concluded it is unimportant. In December 2016,
Nature named
Alexandra Elbakyan, the creator of sci-hub, as one of the 10 people who most mattered in science that year. The article is being edited by someone to enter bogus links, which point to sites which look like sci-hub, but are not. At least two valid domains (sci-hub dot ee and sci-hub dot st ) are blacklisted and I don't feel should be. So I propose that valid domains that point to sci-hub are permitted, and editors discouraged from entering bogus domains. For now I have removed the URL section, as it is inaccurate, and obviously entered by people with an intent to fool others.

Comment: sci-hub.ee is not genuine Sci-Hub. Original Sci-Hub mirrors are listed in its main page, namely: sci-hub.st, .se, .ru. Of course they should stay [globally] blacklisted. However it is desirable to temporarily whitelist them to remove the unneeded "/about" suffix in the
Sci-Hub article infobox, or maybe even to replace it with {{Official URL}} to import the URL from Wikidata (I keep an eye on the Sci-Hub Wikidata entry to ensure it has correct and up-to-date URLs).

a "newspaper" that claims to be based in the UK, but is actually based in India and widely spammed on wP despite no encyclopedic value and they've even gone so far as to
hijack legitimate articles. It's basically a combo of spam and blackhat SEO and should not be used. See also the history
here.

Done Ugh. It's the Shivram Bangwal nest of spammers again. Lots of deceptive vandalism, domain squating, and spamming from those accounts. I've blocked two of them for now, and will add both peoplenewschronicle and youthistaan to the BL. There's probably more; will dig as I get time.
Kuru(talk)12:02, 14 April 2022 (UTC)reply
again it's not spam - its an independent guide since 1998 and there's plenty of other links on wikipedia that have been added as independent guides. It is allowed if you read the details on whats allowed in external links and it is useful information.
i asked you on your page but you did not respond. did you not see it? not sure why you are being so hostile.
this was on your talk page from march 24..
Hi, Just want to ask first if this is ok with you to add under "external links" at the bottom.
Not done Again, it is spam. You were warned multiple times and subsequently blocked for adding it. Then today you tried adding it again under the IP 2601:580:4580:9F30:0:0:0:79D4. Please promote your website elsewhere. OhNoitsJamieTalk02:24, 23 April 2022 (UTC)reply
obviously that is your personal opinion that it's spam, because it's not. An independent guide since 1998 is not spam and it's not promoting when it has useful information for the past 25 years and continues to give useful information that is not available anywhere else.
The only reason I added it is because you never responded to my question from March 24. I can't read your mind.
Not done This site is globally blacklisted. It's part of a farm of faked news sites which operate as paid placement/SEO spam. Not a
WP:RS in any way.

I was making some copy edits to
Norbert Gleicher and when I saved the page, I got a notice that the website centerforhumanreprod.com was blacklisted in some way (there was a link to his bio at that domain that I tried to unhide in the infobox). I've been trying to figure out why the website is blacklisted with no success. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

The usual - sockpuppets, unresponsive to talk page warnings. Mostly spams ancasterfoodequipment, but there is some crossover with the other domains. Note that the 'hellofresh.ca' above does not seem to be affiliated with the 'hellofresh.com' you might have seen advertising on TV, despite the similar appearance of the web sites. -

Interesting! They are
adding junk links to it. I took a look at the whois of the domains before listing here. Hellofresh.com and Hellofreshgroup.com are both registered through amazon's hosting tools, but hellofresh.ca is registered by 'Gandi Services', which seemed suspicious to me. Maybe the Canadian subsidiary just hired a dodgy SEO firm?

Yes, that wouldn't surprise me. It's not uncommon for subsidiaries/regional offices to "do their own thing" like that. It looks like ancasterfoodequipment and archwayinsurance were spammed the most? OhNoitsJamieTalk20:38, 29 April 2022 (UTC)reply
