Mahmudabad ( Persian: محموداباد) [a] is a village in Kamalabad Rural District of the Central District of Karaj County, Alborz province, Iran. It is to the northwest of the city of Karaj and above the Gohardasht region, having a very clean and temperate climate.[ citation needed]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 2,430 in 680 households, when it was in Tehran province. [4] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 3,817 in 1,254 households, by which time the county had separated from the province and become a part of recently established Alborz province. [5] It was the most populous village in its rural district. [2]
