Lualabaea is an extinct genus of prehistoric freshwater coelacanth, belonging to the family Mawsoniidae, from the Jurassic period. [1] It contains two species, L. lerichei Saint-Seine, 1955 and L. henryi Saint-Seine, 1955, both known from the (formerly considered Middle Jurassic, but more recently Kimmeridgian-aged) [2] [3] Stanleyville Formation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. [4] [5] [6] It may be related to or possibly synonymous with Axelrodichthys. [7]
