In Afrikaans, it is known as the Kruiptolbos.
The plant occurs in Cederberg, Olifants River, Kouebokkeveld Mountains, Groot Winterhoek, Elandskloof, Hexrivierberge, Keeromsberg, and Kwadouwberge.
