Kurka Rural District ( Persian: دهستان گوركا) [3] is in the Central District of Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh County, Gilan province, Iran. [4] Its capital is the village of Kashal-e Azad Sara, [5] transferred from the village of Kurka. [6]
At the census of 2006, the rural district's population was 12,936 in 3,729 households. [7] There were 10,374 inhabitants in 3,436 households at the following census of 2011. [8] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 10,250 in 3,602 households. The most populous of its 22 villages was Chur Kuchan, with 1,271 people. [2]
