I understand why some might think this is a fair-use image, but it's really not. It's a copyrighted image, and by showing it in a decent image size, and distributing it on more then just the article on the image itself, it's using the image for the benefit of Wikipedia and therefore the original photographer deserves compensation. Just because images are famous doesn't mean that they suddenly become public domain. I think this should be deleted immediately. 74.79.129.183 20:09, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
It's fair use in Victory over Japan Day, Alfred Eisenstaedt, and V–J day in Times Square, but it's probably not fair use in Kiss. AnonMoos ( talk) —Preceding comment was added at 13:36, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
I see that a new version of this file was uploaded which removed the watermark. Since this is a copyrighted image, I would recommend reverting back to the previous version. While WP:IANAL, my guess is that making major changes the image (with the exception of cropping, brightness, etc), could be a Bad Thing. — MrDolomite • Talk 16:50, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
