Zoumonnien Elie HIEN known as Papa Elie born June 16, 1941 in Gnikpière in Upper Volta and died November 18, 2017 in Arpajon in France, was a Master of African spirituality from Burkina Faso. He was considered a Titioulo in his native village in Burkina Faso. A Titioulo is a spiritual Master able to heal the body, the soul and the spirit. A titioulo is in contact with spirits, plants, animals, winds, waters and stars. He knows how to speak to the ancestors, conduct sacred ceremonies and knows how to travel in the invisible spiritual worlds. 1.Actions in the World Elie HIEN's project and production in the agricultural sector - The case of the Moutori dam in Burkina Faso In the 2000s, Elie HIEN was one of the key people behind the design and construction of the Moutori dam in Burkina Faso. He advocated a philosophy of life based on the Wisdom of Love, Self-knowledge, connection to Nature and ancestors worship as a path to spiritual development. The evolution of the Spirit is effective and possible by following and applying a wisdom of life based on the Love of Life as source and center of awakening. This Love should also be accompanied by a mental discipline where inner peace, joy, empathy and creativity play a crucial role. According the teachings of Zoumonnien Elie HIEN "He who knows himself can see better" so the self-knowledge brings the man to meet the invisible world of ancestors and geniuses called Kontomble in Dagara language. The essential points of the teachings of wise man Elie HIEN turns around 3 axes, the wisdom wheel of 5 elements, the African alphabet and the worship of the ancestors. Added to these elements a philosophy of life, meditative techniques based on signs and symbols from the African tradition, prayers and techniques of waking dreams, numerology and chromotherapy.
3.1 The wheel of 5 elements In the Dagara tradition from which Elie HIEN comes, the circle of the elements is a representation of African wisdom explaining the movement and circulation of cosmic energy in the Universe. This energy manifests itself with the help of the fundamental deities which are the goddess of Water and the God of Fire. Each direction is associated with a deity.
This wheel of elements manifests in different areas, psychology, sciences, medicine or economy.
3.2 The alphabet of wisdom
This alphabet symbolizes and explains the most significant stages of life, which each human being must go through. Every stage knows its challenges, its tasks and its trials, the successes of which generate the evolution of the human spirit. The alphabet of wisdom is the creation of Zoumanien Elie HIEN with roots in the tradition of his Dagara people in Burkina Faso.
3.3 Ancestors worship Zoumonnien Elie HIEN said: "Life means suffering, so do not seek eternal life, but a liberation. Everyone is reborn with the task of doing good. If this does not happen, you must live and suffer again. After a life of perfect Love, one should finally come back as an angel or an ancestor - invisible to most people. " One of the essential points of Elie HIEN’s teaching is the belief in the Ancestors, who are bright and benevolent beings who have evolved after the realization of charitable incarnations. Ancestor worship is a cult of evolved spirits of which Perfect Love is the pivot. Here "perfect" is seen in the sense of completeness, perfection being defined here as a completeness of being and not an absence of faults in the sense of holiness.
