Salim Matthew Faucher (born February 21, 1997) is a British actor known for his work in film, TV and stage.
Faucher was born in Kampala, Uganda of St. Lucian Heritage and moved to London, England at the age of 1. Faucher was raised in Notting Hill with his Aunt. Faucher spent his childhood playing basketball representing London and England at a national [1] and international level. [2] After returning from a stint in Italy, Ascoli Piceno and a tournament With The England U17 Basketball team Faucher decided to switch to acting.
Whilst acting Faucher also did modeling. Primarily e-commerce and editorials for brands such as Hype Beast and Björn Borg [3] alongside working as a Jr. Sous chef.
Faucher studied at Identity School of Acting in 2016. He is currently known for his roles such as Marko in Black Sand - A Sand Man Story [4] directed by Bernhard Pucher alongside Michelle Ryan and Sid Pheonix which won best film at the Fan Film Awards in 2018. Music video 'Times We Had' [5] by SG Lewis. His First Leading Feature film role was Stephan King in the first entirely uk shot, British UK Nollywood Feature The 3 Kings for irokotv which he won best-supporting actor for at the African Voice Online awards 2018 [6] Matthew Faucher also played the role of Hairnery in Hairy [7] [8] on stage at Polka Theatre [9] by physical theatre company Spymonkey in which his comedic performance was described as "Slightly Dopey" [10] by The Stage. After a short sting in Wimbledon before touring to Worthing [11] Faucher also played the role of Theo in the bafta qualifying short 'A Fox in the Night' [12]
