Avik Saha is a farmer leader and lawyer based in India. He has been actively advocating for farmers' rights and welfare in India. [1] During the protests against agricultural laws passed by the Indian government, he played an instrumental role as a leader of Jai Kisan Andolan, Swaraj Abhiyan and AIKSCC. [2] He wrote an article in 2017 regarding an open market of Farm produce and argued that it is not in the interest of farmers.
Recently, SKM launched a series of all-India mega events aimed at garnering widespread support for farmer's MSP demand. [3]. [4] On March 14, a maha panchayat of farmers was held in Ramlila Maidan. Avik Saha [5] also announced that Samyukta Kisan Morcha is going to observe a 'Black Day' or 'Aakrosh Diwas' on February 23. Following this, on February 26, a nationwide 'tractor pradarshan' (demonstration) will take place, urging the government to withdraw from the WTO.
