This category includes the native flora of Italy, in Southeastern Europe. Taxa of the lowest rank are always included. Higher taxa are included only if endemic.

For the purposes of this category, "Italy" is defined in accordance with the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions. That is, the geographic region is mostly defined by its political boundaries except it excludes Sardinia, which is included in Southwestern Europe, and Sicily (a category of its own) and includes the flora of Vatican City and San Marino.
