Aluni ( Persian: آلونی) [a] is a city in, and the capital of, the Central District of Khanmirza County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran, and also serves as capital of the county. It was the administrative center for Khanmirza Rural District until the capital was transferred to the village of Do Makan. [4] The city is populated by Lurs. [5]
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,297 in 481 households, when it was in the former Khanmirza District of Lordegan County. [6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,639 people in 625 households. [7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,775 people in 734 households. [2]
In August 2018, Armand Rural District and Khanmirza District were separated from the county in the establishment of Khanmirza County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Aluni as its capital and only city. [4]
