Ajin ( Persian: آجین) [a] is a city in, and the capital of, Pirsalman District of Asadabad County, Hamadan province, Iran. [4] It also serves as the administrative center for Pirsalman Rural District. [5]
At the time of the 2006 National Census, Ajin's population was 3,343 in 766 households, when it was a village in Pirsalman Rural District of the Central District. [6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,194 people in 879 households, [7] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Pirsalman District. [4] The 2016 census measured the population as 2,738 people in 822 households, [2] when the village had been elevated to the status of a city. [8]
