Zepita (from Aymara Sipita) is one of seven districts of the Chucuito Province in Puno Region, Peru. [1]
One of the highest peaks of the district is Qhapiya at 4,809 m (15,778 ft). Other mountains are listed below: [2]
The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Aymara descent. Aymara is the language which the majority of the population (87.08%) learnt to speak in childhood, 12.21% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language ( 2007 Peru Census). [3]
