Wolfs is an upcoming American action comedy film written and directed by Jon Watts. [1] [2] It stars and is co-produced by George Clooney and Brad Pitt. It also stars Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams and Poorna Jagannathan.
Wolfs is set to be released theatrically by Columbia Pictures through Sony Pictures Releasing on September 20, 2024. [3]
Two professional fixers find themselves hired for the same job. [4] To deal with upcoming dangerous and chaotic events, the "lone wolves" are forced to work together. [5]
It was announced in September 2021 that Jon Watts would write and direct an untitled thriller film, with George Clooney and Brad Pitt starring and producing. [6] Apple TV+ acquired the rights to the film after winning a studio bidding war against studios including Sony Pictures (which would later take over theatrical distribution rights), Lionsgate, Annapurna Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Netflix and Amazon Studios (now called Amazon MGM Studios). [7] Production began in New York City in January 2023, with Amy Ryan joining the cast. [8] Larkin Seiple serves as cinematographer. [9] [10] In February, Austin Abrams and Poorna Jagannathan were added to the cast. [11] [12]
Principal photography began in early January 2023 in New York City. [13] Clooney and Pitt filmed scenes in Harlem and Chinatown. [14] [15] Filming was suspended in July 2023 due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. [16]
Wolfs reunites actors Clooney and Pitt; they previously worked together in the Ocean's trilogy (2001–2007) and Burn After Reading (2008). [17]
Following their partnership on Napoleon, Apple entered another agreement with Sony Pictures Releasing to distribute the film in cinemas. [18] That same month, it was scheduled to be released in the United States on September 20, 2024. [19]
