I just created this wikiproject, after several months of contemplating doing so. I hope everyone working on hurricane articles will get involved. I went ahead and wrote a bunch of guidelines, basically based on current practices...naturally since this is something I just wrote it doesn't necessarily represent community consensus and needs to be discussed. That discussion should probably go here for now...although eventually we may make these pages a little more structured. For a general TODO list, see the "tasks" item on the project page. Inspired by the discussion about the RFC for the Tornadoes of XXXXarticles, I wanted to have a similar discussion about tropical cyclones. Every tropical cyclone is listed in a yearly overview going back to 1991. The current one is Tropical cyclones in 2024. I believe that should be extended back to 1900, as an official goal of the project. It will take some time and some research. I only recently wrote the article on 1936 Pacific typhoon season, and I found a lot of deadly storms that Wikipedia had nothing about previously. Going back to 1900 will be the beginning, as later on it should be extended back to 1800, but one century at a time. ♫ Hurricanehink ( talk) 21:23, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
