Best Time for Event

Hi, so 2nd THURSDAY is September 13th and the plan to do active time from 5-6 pm is not working with Venture Cafe's schedule, so we have a couple of options, we can do more active time in a room from 4-5 pm or 7-8 pm. Which time is preferred? I need to get back to VC staff about. THANKS Jon Phillips ( talk) 14:51, 31 August 2018 (UTC) reply

Notes from the event

Here are some notes I took during the event:

1. Intros and discussed what everyone is editing.

  • User:Jon Phillips noted not a lot of coverage for graffiti art here in St. Louis, even though we have longest graffiti wall. Suggestion was to get Guinness here to make it official. Action item Reach out to person involved with graffiti wall to see what they want to do. Action itemOrganize edit event in conjunction Art+Feminism regarding graffiti.

2. Discussion of pages for towns in the St. Louis area.

  • Action itemWhat historical societies are in and around St. Louis? Are there people who are citizen historians with a lot of archived material?
  • Access to Post Dispatch content is a challenge and would really open up opportunities for publishing on Wikipedia about St. Louis. User:Mark Schierbecker said they would reach out to Wikipedia Library for potential access.
  • The library headquarters is also a great resource of material.

3. Talked about Wiki Loves Monuments and WikiConference North America 4. Discussed out plans for the future.

  • Discussed perks of making a user group (more organization, better communication with participants, and grant eligibility. Decided on Wikimedians of Missouri for user group name. Action itemSubmit user group application. (I’ll do this one. Jackiekoerner ( talk) 04:17, 15 September 2018 (UTC)) reply
  • User:Mark Schierbecker will send historical content to User:Jackiekoerner for informational purposes.
  • Outreach possibilities at several educational institutions
  • Possibly hold edit event at Missouri Botanical Gardens like was done previously.
