Featured Topic Status

Long term, making Texas A&M a featured topic is a goal. Featured topic articles that should be part of our candidacy: Introductory and summary lead article.

Core articles of nomination- clear similarities with each other under a well-defined topical scope (i suggest main sections of of the TAMU article)

Other articles which could be considered part of the "core". . . The topic is not overly large -

Future possible Core articles-

I think an academics article would be good, so we would not have to respond to criticism that we didn't promote all the colleges. Oldag07 ( talk) 02:43, 5 January 2009 (UTC) reply
I gave up, on this topic because it is so broad, and i am not sure how notable a lot of the stuff going into it would be. Oldag07 ( talk) 02:43, 5 January 2009 (UTC) reply

Karanacs opinion

Ideally, I'd like to see two FTs; the main Texas A&M University Featured Topic (that would include Texas A&M University, History of Texas A&M University, Traditions of Texas A&M University, Campus of Texas A&M University, and Texas A&M Aggies, and possibly Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets).

Then I'd propose a second topic for Texas A&M University Traditions.

Some of these traditions articles will likely not be able to reach FA status (Aggie Plant, March to the Brazos) especially. Yell Leaders and Midnight Yell Practice might need to be combined. Karanacs 15:35, 20 September 2007 (UTC) reply

BQZip01's Vision

I concur with the above in that making Texas A&M a featured topic is a long-term goal. I believe that two major FTs are within our grasp within 2009 (generally in line with the opinions of OldAg07 and Karanacs).

FT #1: Texas A&M University

Main Article
Texas A&M University
Core Articles
History of Texas A&M University
Campus of Texas A&M University
List of Texas Aggie terms
Traditions of Texas A&M University
Texas A&M Aggies
Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets

Please note that those in bullets are not necessary for the topic, but I see no reason not to include them as they are important parts of the University.

FT#2: Texas A&M University Traditions

Main article
Traditions of Texas A&M University
Other articles
List of Texas Aggie terms
Aggie Bonfire
Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets
Fightin' Texas Aggie Band
Aggie Muster
12th Man (football)
Yell Leaders
Midnight Yell Practice

How to get there

The easiest way to get to these goals is to focus our efforts into the remaining articles. I think the campus and Corps of Cadets articles are closest to FA status and should be our first goals. Texas A&M Aggies might be easier to simply get to GA status. — BQZip01 —  talk 09:41, 11 January 2009 (UTC) reply

I think an FA academics page in place of all the individual college pages might be a FA. maybe. Oldag07 ( talk) 04:03, 12 January 2009 (UTC) reply
