I've created {{ WikiProject Anime and manga}} for use on relevant talk pages. Please apply liberally ;-) — Kirill Lok s hin 02:52, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
How do I become a part of this Wikiproject? fizzy
Please check out the following articles. I've listed what I think is wrong with them in parentheses.
Thanks for your time. -- nihon 05:09, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
At the beginning of anime articles should we be using the
Template: Nihongo for the english, japanese and romanji? After sifting through the talk page for the template, I've read that it performs formatting by bolding the english and italicising the japanese automatically and can hide the japanese if the user's OS does not support it. The problem is that I've never seen an anime article use it. -

First of all I dont mean to come of rude but I have a question i have had for some time. I do not understand why their such an emphasis made on providing japanese spelling for all material that originated from Japan. Its understandable if the article speaks of something solely only found in Japan but why do all this english translated/dubbed/broadcasted anime programs make so much reference to japanese/japanese original translation titles. I hope i didnt come off too vulgar but I was just curious. Tutmosis 20:21, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Something you might want to add to your wikiproject Gerard Foley 01:38, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
I've been looking at redoing Template:Infobox Anime convention for the past couple of days. I mainly want to prevent text from poorly wrapping when it is too wide for the table cell--particularly the location. I also like to make the image and official_website parameters optional. But with 38 pages currently using the infobox, this isn't something I'm going into lightly.
To currently see what I'm doing with the infobox, you can check out my Sandbox-- TheFarix 04:00, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Mitsukai and I have been discussing the basic requirements that a convention should meet before it can be placed on the list of anime conventions. However, we would like to have more input from others. Please leave your comments at Talk:List of anime conventions.-- TheFarix 02:22, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Does just adding the {{WikiProject Anime and manga}} to the top of the talk page automatically add it to the project? Crampy20 13:58, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Should the Participants section be moved to its own page or something? I'm sick of fixing up the columns so they're equal sizes - Squilibob 05:08, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Before going around add notifying some participates of the change, I want other's opinion of the notice:
You are listed as a participant of WikiProject Anime and manga. A recent change in how participants are listed — using a category — will result in your inadvertent removal from the project. If you wish to continue your participantion, please check the the project page for details on how to add yourself back to the project.

No need to post anything on my page as I'm already switched to the new method. (^_^) -- 日本穣 01:22, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm a little unsure on what the conventions on listing characters are. Some pages make it into a tertiary heading (ie the "===" tags) such as the current ToHeart page, while others will keep the character names bolded only, such as the Rozen Maiden article. In both they are both followed by a description and other information about the characters.
In articles with numerous characters, perhaps the former elongates the contents page too much. However, it does look much better given the font size and the bold typeface applied to the character's names.
I am referring to the 7th March and 8th March edits of ToHeart2 and ToHeart.
Is there a set convention here which we can all follow? I would personally prefer the latter, as the character descriptions do not seem to be long enough to warrent their own sections.
Karn-b 03:11, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Actually while we are on the subject of Character listing. Is there a template that outputs something like the following:
It would be handy if there was such a template. I couldn't find it on the list. It may be worthwhile to use one for standardizations sake. - Squilibob 14:58, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
The article Glomp has been nominated for AFD a second time. Please weigh in on it if you are so inclined; alternately, you may wish to join the effort to clean up the article.-- み使い Mitsukai 23:28, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
On the bottom of the Bleach article, there is a box containing a list of different articles on Bleach, with links to sections within the article. What is this called, and how can one be created?
Karn-b 16:54, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
While sorting through some of the articles to see which ones can be destub, I happened across several articles that have been double stubbed with both {{ anime-stub}} and {{ Japan-voice-actor-stub}}. Since the two are closely related, I've made the category for {{{{ Japan-voice-actor-stub}} a subcategory for Category:Anime and manga stubs. The question I have is, can the stubs be trimmed down to just one? In this case, to just {{ Japan-voice-actor-stub}}. Are there any real benefits to stub these articles with both {{ anime-stub}} and {{ Japan-voice-actor-stub}}?-- TheFarix ( Talk) 23:07, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Hey everyone. I just created an article on the manga and upcoming anime Black Lagoon. If anyone would be so kind as to look it over for stylistic or formatting errors, that would be awesome. Thanks!-- Zaorish 06:23, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
I've moved the to do list so that it intergrates with the {{WikiProject Anime and manga}} template. -- Squilibob 01:50, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
I've been thinking about how best to reduce Category:Anime. The current scheme has been to divide everything into Anime series, Anime OVA, and Anime films. However, I don't think this will be enough, especially with the possibility of several anime being cross categorized in at least two if not all three categories. As an alternative I propose sorting based on the anime's genre:
The naming scheme follows Horror anime which already exists. With more categories, problems with a single category growing too large because of cross categorization should no longer be a problem. -- TheFarix ( Talk) 22:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm very much in favor of this plan. (^_^) -- 日本穣 04:42, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
I like the plan in principle, but think the first scheme (series, OVA, films) is generally better. The reason is, series/OVA/films is a more straight-forward category than genres and offers much less confusion - basically any user can categorize like that, while not all users may immediately understand the genre of the anime/manga (based on the article). However, this does not stop us from also making genre-based categories and having more than one category for each article. -- Y Ynhockey ( Talk) Y 15:44, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Category:Anime is now at 428 articles and dropping. That is smaller then Category:Anime series, which has 474 articles. Some of the articles will probably stay in Category:Anime because they are too general to but in a subcatagory.
Anyways, I've just finished G and will probably start on H later. But I need some rest first. Fill free to sort the articles I skipped over or correct anything I miscategorized. -- TheFarix ( Talk) 23:49, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
FINISHED! I'm sure I've made mistakes along the way by placing an anime in a genre that it doesn't belong or left it out of a genre, so feel free to correct them as you see them. But don't ask me to sort Category:Manga. At least not for a few weeks. -- TheFarix ( Talk) 14:58, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
There are a lot of requested articles I've been finding and cataloging over on Wikipedia:Requested articles/Japan, far more than appear in this category. Feel free to add more to this page, too. I've been going through the various related lists and listing all of the redlinks there. I've also created a bunch of redirects from some requests to the articles that already exist. -- 日本穣 04:44, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
