I think we are getting near to the time when we can start contacting the projects again. The sun is shining, the bot is working nicely, and the WP0.5 and WP1.0 are almost ready to go. Would someone care to draft a new message? This time:
Please post your suggested wordings below, and we'll try editing our favourite. Thanks! Walkerma 19:14, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Core Topics + supps. (150 + 150) > VAs (1000) > Key articles (10,000??)
The "importance" criterion is, however, a relative one, to be judged within the context of each WikiProject. Thanks for your comment, Walkerma 22:49, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
A bit on how to utilize the bot would be nice, including where to get help setting up the relevant templates and whatnot; it took me a while to figure out magic category-adding templates did the work. Nifboy 04:30, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Can we at least start contacting groups tonight? Walkerma 03:32, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Thank goodness you had the foresight to do that! Let's use that as a start- I'll create a location for that, if you don't mind. A second thing, I'm thinking that the section pages are getting long and will soon get much longer (hopefully!), and I wonder if we should think about one or both of the following changes:
Comments please? Thanks, Walkerma 15:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I've started a table here, will try to work on it tonight. Walkerma 01:24, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, I've now got all of the old listing for Arts and Language & Literature put onto Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/List of WikiProjects, this summarises progress so far. You can see easily who has been contacted. I am proposing we use Key Articles for Wikipedia 1.0 as a title on the talk page, and Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Posting2 as a typical posting. Feel free to vary this as you see fit; for broad projects like History or Books we may want to emphasise things like worklists and WP:V0.5 more, whereas for a very specialised project like WikiProject:Shannara we may want only one or a handful of key articles for now. Please look at the List of WikiProjects to see what contacts have been made, and help contact some more! I would encourage you to check back in with any projects you contact within a few days - some may do nothing, but sometimes the posting can precipitate a lengthy discussion, and in one case a worklist that now contains around 7000 articles!!! It would be very rude of us not to follow up on such responses! Thanks to all people helping here, Walkerma 04:23, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
From Wikipedia:WikiProject Books — /Worklist take a look (and copy) and comment. feydey 13:52, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
I see that our project has had the pages Anime and History of anime rated, but the project also includes Manga. -- Squilibob 00:32, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
I believe a worklist created for the Wikifilms project would be highly appreciated and very helpful in identifying articles and organizing efforts. What process does a Wikiproject have to go through, in order to request a worklist? A response would be appreciated.-- P-Chan 06:39, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Hi. On the behalf of The Simpsons WikiProject I would like to request a bot to generate a worklist. I believe that our banner {{SimpsonWikiProject}} does everything that is required. -- Maitch 13:12, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
From Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels — we also have a /Worklist take a look and let us know what else we need to do to get going. I have in mind to set up an "Assessment Department" in similar fashion to that used by WP:MILHIST. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/ (Desk) 15:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

I was looking over the lists and noticed articles like Wii/archive11 being listed as B-class. Obviously this isn't the case; the assessment is a talk page leftover for the Wii article. Any chance we could get the bot to ignore either archive pages or talk pages without articles? Nifboy 07:54, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
This is our (my) list of articles to include in 0.5. I'll try and create on of those tags later, but for now, here's the main list. -- Zanimum

Please forgive me for commenting without being asked: That's a rather America-centric list as far as the 3 people listed are concerned. I've never even heard of Regis Philbin, and Jerry Seinfeld is of declining importance the further one travels from the US. I also think that the British Broadcasting Corporation, CNN and a few other broadcasters are more important than Dallas or the Idol series! -- kingboyk 19:55, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
In which case, perhaps you meant to post at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.5 Nominations? :) -- kingboyk 19:02, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Once we make the 0.5 set nominations page official, we should point willing Projects (even ones that have bot lists) in that general direction. Nifboy 07:40, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
Please contact us at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Community#Articles for the Wikipedia 1.0 project. We could use some help with assessment and assessment tools if anyone has the time. Thanks in advance! • CQ 22:04, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Sociology is diving in. I think I have everything set up. See Category:WikiProject Sociology and Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Sociology articles by quality. So far, no word from the bot. We're using {{WikiProject Sociology}} on the Sociology ( GA) article along with some token articles: List of sociology topics (our worklist), Role (we have one, ya know) and a new stub Affinity (sociology), which is what wikipedia ought to be all about.
I put WikiProject Sociology on the "Big list" under "Humanities" creating a "Sociology" heading and moved Wikipedia:WikiProject Community undernieth it since it is a "child" project. Let me know if I screwed things up. • CQ 09:53, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
The template on the Sociology page lists it as part of the social sciences. Given that this is the English WP, I think other views are more important than the French and German. Maurreen 00:34, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
I created Category:Wikipedia geography work groups and did some sorting of the general wikiprojects page (for WP). Also, when anyone is ready to do more with this subject, we can reactivate Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Geography. Maurreen 20:18, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I've just created Wikipedia:WikiProject Indonesia and apparently, I'm using the WP:1.0 program to count the articles "automatically" (for the ratings). My question is, is the data updated automatically or manually? Because I've put Indonesia article a rating but it hasn't showed up on the statistics. I've made the project page of
Am I doing the right thing? Since I just ripped of WikiProject Australia and WikiProject India's concept. Any help would be highly appreciated, cheers -- Imo eng 02:43, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
I just finished creating the banner and categories for rating Lithuania-related articles. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Lithuania/Assessment. What should I do next? Renata 16:33, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
You folks might be interested in WP:COUNCIL, whose purpose is to help in the creation, coordination and management of Wikipedia's WikiProjects... Tito xd( ?!?) 20:15, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
I just fired up the Assessment department for WikiProject Organized Labour. Hopefully I've covered everything, but if anyone wants to take a second look it would be appreciated. I've taged a few articles, and I'll keep an eye on things for couple days. Cheers.-- Bookandcoffee 20:34, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
I have done all the instructions required to get these projects using the assessment scale, but the statistics aren't coming up. What's wrong? ....( Complain)( Let us to it pell-mell) 04:51, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I am an editor with WikiProject Comics, and we'd like to put an assessment team together like many of the other projects whose work is part of this. I am a little overwhelmed, however, by the information, and I can't anything on how to get started. Can someone point me in the right direction for this? -- Chris Griswold ( ☎ ☓) 18:24, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi, i've just made a banner at {{WP Space exploration}} and set up the appropriate categories (i hope) for the Space exploration WikiProject. is there anything more that needs to be done? Mlm42 17:29, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I'm here representing Wikiproject Paranormal. I just set us up our own assessment department, so I wanted to give you guys a 'heads-up' in case you needed anything from us now. -- InShaneee 18:35, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
