Hi. When I am using the "warn user" in RedWarn, if I give it a level 1 or 2 warning what will happen is that there will not be a 'thank you' message on the end of the notice which it should. When I was investigating the cause of this by viewing the source of what RedWarn adds to the vandal's talk page, I find that it adds something like this, when I link the related page to Test: {{subst:uw-vandalism1|Test|'' ''}} ~~~~. When I saw the template description, the "additional comment" will override the "thank you" message at the end of the template, so that even if I don't put any additional info it would still add the template like if I was adding the info but the info is blank. So I would recommend editing the script such that by warning a user without entering an additional comment, it will not add the 3rd parameter on the template so that the message would be less WP:BITEy than without the "thank you" message at the end. Thanks User3749 ( talk) 06:28, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
I tried to use Template:uw-notcensored2 with additional text and a Wikipedia diff link in [ http:/ TEXT ] format and posted. The additional text was lost and only the standard template was posted. -- Walrus Ji ( talk) 08:05, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi all. This may have already been asked but a quick search in the archives found nothing obvious. Edit summaries appear to save after using them once, which is awesome. As you start typing, the sentence appears, but is there a way to clear this and start fresh? Rob van vee 18:26, 3 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi. I was recently trying to revert misuses of the wikipedia sandbox, I tried to warn the user with RW but the uw-sandbox1 template, which was the template that I was using, wasn't there in RedWarn and therefore I have to manually send the warning through the "new talk page message" function in RedWarn. Can you please add the uw-sandbox series of template (with all the level 1 to level 4im warnings)? Thanks User3749 ( talk) 15:18, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi. I have two questions about first the update of RedWarn 16.1 and second the RW inspector. The first is that the RedWarn 16.1 update doesn't seem to appear on my end, do I have to do it manually or is it still in testing stage? So how can I, if possible, get the RedWarn 16.1 update? Second, the RedWarn inspector was removed in the 16 update, so why is it removed? Will it be added back? Thanks User3749 ( talk) 15:25, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
Could we have {{ Uw-editsummary2}} added? It appeared recently in Twinkle. Elizium23 ( talk) 04:55, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
How can I install redwarn ? What should I do after coping the text? It says Copy this text to your clipboard which clipboard? Whatsupkarren ( talk) 14:33, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
I have found this feature quite useful, though one thing I have noticed is that because it notifies of your own edits, it is more difficult to access certain features after reverting as the page would reload without me taking any action regarding the user, especially if the action is not warning the user but something else requiring me to click out of the warning window such as reporting to AIV. Username 6892 17:59, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
The nocat
parameter is slightly broken in
Template:RedWarn topicon. According to the documentation, yes
is supposed to quote This will stop the category from being added, no matter what
while no
is supposed to quote This will add the category to the page, no matter what
. However, adding yes
doesn't actually removed the category while adding no
removed the category instead which is opposite of what the documentation was stating. Hence I believe there's logic error with the template. —

Is this a bug? I noticed that RedWarn adds 2 additional new line before the L2 heading when warning user, something that Twinkle doesn't do. Here is the warning user using RedWarn [1] and here is warning user using Twinkle. [2] This only happen when issuing L1 warning to user. — Paper9oll ( 📣 • 📝) 09:34, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
When I click the "Apply Settings and Continue" button, nothing happens. Owen250708 ( talk) 11:18, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
So apprarently, I was reverting "unexplained content removal" from 2020–21 CSA T20 Challenge when patrolling recent changes. However, I didn't notice that the content was already self-reverted by IP user hence when I click the revert button, RedWarn loads the revert bar, and after that it said "Rollback complete" then the warning menu pop-up. Me not knowing that nothing was actually revert because the revision to rollback to and the latest revision is actually the same, issue the warning to IP user. Here is the history from 2020-21 CSA T20 Challenge and here is history for IP user which I unknowingly issued warning to User talk:102.223.59.123 (I have since reverted the issued warning).
What I suggest is that, if the version to rollback to is the same as latest revision, instead of displaying "Rollback complete" display something like "Not done" or "Version is same". And also, don't open up the warning menu. — Paper9oll ( 📣 • 📝) 14:03, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
When creating a talk page, the tools appear but are blank and they cannot be clicked, it'd be great if we could warn a user without having to first create the talk page. Example FozzieHey ( talk) 13:31, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
Today I accidentally reported an already-blocked user to UAA. I noticed that there's no notification on RW if a user is blocked when making a report in comparison to twinkle - could this be implemented somehow? Thanks, Pahunkat ( talk) 20:26, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

I was given a
WP:BITE warning when I reverted unsourced edits and warned the anon at
11:07, 31 January 2021. There is a level 2 warning on 2 Jan 2021, a level 1 warning on 30 Jan 2021 @ 15:18 and then my level 3 warning on 31 Jan 2021 @ 11:07. It was less than 24 hours after the previous warning. I think that the warning should have been a level 2 and not level 3 warning. The anon seems to be continuing with unsourced edits... Cheers
