So, I made this as a centralized place where we could discuss the importance of the toolserver, specifically to the english wikipedia. I personally think a toolserver is pretty much vital at this point, and if the current one has either technical or political reasons for being unreliable some sort of workaround needs to occur. Ideally that would mean a toolserver colocated with the main cluster. I don't know if this is the best place to start talking about it, but I think it should be discussed, and from asking a few other people there seems to be interest. - cohesion 00:55, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
We, the undersigners of this petition, hereby ask the administrators of the Wikimedia Deutschland toolserver to let User:Interiot fix the current incompatibility with enwiki_p.
I think it is important that we get this sorted out so these tools will be up and running again. I have posted a notice about this situation at Wikipedia:Community Portal. Johntex\ talk 00:34, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Anyone know where to find news on the toolserver's current status? I cannot get to CatScan or find any up-to-date information on the ts, even at its main page or on mwiki. Her Pegship (tis herself) 19:32, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

I understand that there may be some work being done on the toolserver database. Is there an estimated time of return to normal service? Chaosdruid ( talk) 05:30, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi guys—the Signpost was ready to publish, appallingly late this week, and we found the toolserver down. Ed, the editor in chief, is about to turn in for the night. Any idea when it might be back humming again? Tony (talk) 04:13, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
Is there a page that lists the types of tools available and what they do? AIRcorn (talk) 22:13, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
I recall reading somewhere that the Toolserver would continue to operate—but in a limited fashion—after all the tools where moved over to Wikimmedia Labs. This was going to be for users that could not more their tools for one reason or another. I've searched and cannot find it anywhere, so I'm not adding to the page yet. If anybody can confirm or refute that, it would be helpful. Thanks. 64.40.54.100 ( talk) 07:38, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
So, the tools are not working. Not found (404) errors when attempts to launch. Are we at sea without a rudder or simply in a transition from Toolserver to Wikilabs? Geoff Who, me? 01:35, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
I haven't been able to load any page on Toolserver since at least the last day or so. Is it down? What is happening? Allen (Morriswa) ( talk) 17:20, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
These tools have ceased to function, giving an error message "403: User account expired. The page you requested is hosted by the Toolserver user snottywong, whose account has expired." User:snottywong has has responded to inquiries by directing people to User:Σ;s version of the tools. However I see on their Talk page that User:Σ said that they won't be enabling any version of the tools. Too bad, as these were very useful resources. - LuckyLouie ( talk) 16:18, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
Directory /home/snottywong: permission denied

Done Finally I could get some results after having changed the URL and database settings during one hour:

Considering that we all keep clicking toolserver links and getting "Sorry...", it might be a good idea to expand and transclude the following table to Wikipedia:Toolserver and Wikipedia:Wikimedia Labs:
