I know that the Voyager 1 entry was removed, but I re-added the information because it was notable, considering that Voyager 1 is currently the most distant man-made object. -- Ixfd64 05:55, 2005 September 4 (UTC)
I'd say it's a tough call, but if it was up to me, I'd take out Voyager, since there are already enough mentions of it throughout the calendar; this is only the launch date but we have every other date for it already in there... The other 5 are too important to cut...! Codex Sinaiticus 22:19, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
Not sure this is an error on the Main Page, could just be a conflict, but it says Sam Houston was elected as the first President of the Republic of Texas, with a wikilink at President to List of Presidents of the Republic of Texas, which lists him as the second President of Texas. Maybe he was the first elected President? Anyway, one of these items needs to be corrected. Thanks, Ruhrfisch 02:25, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I am alarmed by the declination of wikipedia's integrity to the point of 'on this day including information about some disney character named 'Oswald the rabbit', yet including absolutely nothing about the 36th anniversary of the launch of Voyager 1, the farthest man made object from Earth and arguably one of mankind's most remarkable and resilient scientific achievements. Thank you for turning a cold shoulder to science, yet again, to pander to the lowest common denominator. 66.87.98.214 ( talk) 17:15, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
