. That led me to try and figure out exactly what the eligibility requirements are, which got unexpectedly interesting. As far as I can tell, the requirements are Open to anyone who is over 18, meets Foundation's Access to nonpublic personal data policy, and otherwise be eligible to vote.
. The "otherwise eligible to vote" comes from
WP:ACE2023#Election timeline:
An editor is eligible to vote who: (i) has registered an account before 00:00, 1 October 2023 (ii) has made at least 150 mainspace edits before 00:00, 1 November 2023 (iii) has made at least 10 live edits (in any namespace) in the one year prior to 00:00, 1 November 2023 and, (iv) is not blocked from the English Wikipedia at the time of their vote.
the problem being (ii) and (iii) which have a 1 November 2023 deadline. That's fine for ACE, but make no sense for the commission elections, which will be over by then. Maybe this is something last year's commission (@AmandaNP, @Mz7, @ Cyberpower678) needs to clarify? You guys thought you could go home already? And obviously, fixed for ACE2024. 150 mainspace editswithin any time frame their chances of actually getting elected aren't great. -- Asartea Talk | Contribs 14:55, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
has registered an account before 00:00, 1 October 2023criteria, which was not met for that user. Checking in to make sure you don't object to that? — xaosflux Talk 15:25, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
Hi everyone. Just wanted to note that I have asked Frostly to reconsider the closure in this RfC ( permalink). Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 06:58, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
@ Xaosflux @ Cyberpower678 It has come to my attention that while I got a mop when I became an admin, a fez when I became an SPI clerk, and a cardigan when I became a functionary, the three of us are apparently now entitled to mimosas. I'll take mine with prosecco and an orange slice for garnish, thank you. Who do I see about getting that sent up to my room? RoySmith (talk) 23:17, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
