Nice catch. This is clearly the same pattern: creating articles about non-existent children's books, children's films, TV series, etc and always doing so by copying and slightly modifying the source of a legitimate article that already exists. I still hope the checkuser will help in identifying new socks or confirming current ones. The latest to be identified seems to be
Iabci (
talk·contribs). Can't wait 'til this guy gets a better hobby.

Comment I've now added another half dozen or so sock accounts and suspicious IPs. I've also found that the history of
Woodland Animations strongly suggests that StealBoy is indeed
Lyle123 and so this is part of a very long term and very serious vandalism problem. Hopefully the checkuser can help us figure things out to hardblock problematic IPs if that's an option.

one more comment to the checkuser people: I do understand that a number of the above accounts have gone stale. I'm listing them mostly to illustrate the importance of the problem.

If it is any help, a few weeks ago, I checked all the IP addresses in the range 220.233.176.001 to 220.233.176.255 (which seem to emanate from Sydney, Australia, and all those that had been used on wikipedia showed evidence of the same pattern of sometimes very convoluted and subtle edits as you have identified here. Is it possible to flag all the addresses in that range? and is it possible to block a named editor if using a machine with one of the blocked IPs? Regards

Well it would be helpful for a start to know what IP adresses in those ranges have Wikipedia contributions because it's pretty easy from their contributions to find the sockpuppet accounts and the hoax articles they've created. By the way, note to checkusers, I have stopped adding sock accounts to this request because I figure it gets pretty pointless but there's an
apparently infinite list of them.

I added in another based off of
