Shibumi2 gets 2-week block

Do you really believe Shibumi2 will edit in a good-faith manner upon the expiration of the 2-week block? Do things usually work this way after such egregious abuse of our system? Badagnani ( talk) 19:49, 30 December 2007 (UTC) reply

What you've probably got there is a university professor who assigned this article as some sort of class project. That would explain the shared IP address and Shibumi2's unexplained departure from his usual focus on Japanese Navy articles. Thanks for your obedience to WP:AGF and WP:BITE, by the way. A Sprint mobile PCS is a shared IP? That's what they give to cell phones or mobile laptop internet. Each one is unique. Lawrence Cohen 20:59, 30 December 2007 (UTC) reply

"Each one is unique." What is your reliable source for that, Lawrence? Or are we supposed to just take your word for it, after your multiple, provably false accusations? And regarding your false accusation against the "209" IP editor, hasn't it already been proven that the IP address traces back to an enormous corporation with thousands of employees? Hasn't an administrator at WP:ANI pointed out that Waterboarding isn't one of the articles that BryanFromPalatine was interested in? Neutral Good ( talk) 21:18, 30 December 2007 (UTC) reply

In part, because I have Sprint on my own phone, and because if it was a well know heavily used IP address that hundreds or thousands of people browsed through, it would show up on Google. Most big IPs, from schools and the such, always do. And let's leave the investigation if any of the 209 address to the Checkusers who know what they are doing. The results here are good. Do not worry. We will be vigilant for future troublemaking and if there is a next time, the block will be much longer. Jehochman Talk 00:49, 31 December 2007 (UTC) reply

Thank you. You have a positive attitude. Badagnani ( talk) 00:52, 31 December 2007 (UTC) reply

Sorry I forgot to reply, I had the same reasoning than Jehochman, I don't think that using the ban hammer for a one time mistake would be productive. -- lucasbfr ho ho ho 10:45, 31 December 2007 (UTC) reply

Shibumi2 has been unblocked

Just a note: Shibumi2, the Checkuser admin, unblocked Shibumi2 after less than six days of a two-week block. Lucasfbr, the admin who blocked him, left a post on Shibumi2's Talk page that says, "I'm happy to see that things were resolved, and sorry for the mess!" At WP:ANI I requested clarification and received this answer:

For the record, that was forgiveness and understanding but not vindication
